For 28 years the Westchester Triathlon has conducted a first class multisport event in the New York Tri State Area.

Held at the end of September, this race is often the final one of the season for many local triathletes. From novice to professional, young and old, the 1,000 athletes gather together in the scenic town of Rye in Westchester County, New York for this Olympic distance race.

Swim
Beginning at 7:00am the athletes swim 9/10ths of a mile in the calm waters of the Long Island Sound. Water temperature is usually in the low 70′s. Waiting on the beach, you’ll have breathtaking views of Long Island and Connecticut. Sighting back is easy as the athletes focus on the historic White Towers during the homestretch to shore. Sand in, sand out with no steps or rocks.

Bike
Hopping on their bikes, the athletes embrace the 25 mile scenic bike course with gentle rolling hills, but not ignoring our famous “Claire’s Climb” – a grueling ascent on the hills in Greenwich American Corp. The course takes you through the residential neighborhoods of Rye, Port Chester, Harrison and Greenwich, CT where they ride past some horse farms.

Run
Athletes then embark on their last leg of the race, a 6.2 mile run through the shady and picturesque streets of Rye, including the famous Rye Playland Boardwalk. A relatively flat course concludes in Rye Town Park, where the post race festivities begin.
