Distance:
Swim 1.5K (0.92 miles)
Bike 40K (24.8miles)
Run 10K (6.2 miles)

The course is moderately difficult, and you should confirm with our staff that you have the ability to complete the course within the cut-off times with your specific disability.

Categories:
There will be one category for challenged athletes, incorporating both men and women, leaving in the same wave and timed and recorded as a group. If you prefer to race and compete in Age Group then do not select Challenged Athlete.

Awards
The Challenged Athletes category does NOT receive USAT Age Group points. There will be first, second and third place awards given to this category along with 2 slots for the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon for the 1st place man and 1st place woman.

Entry Fees:
Tri-Trainer.com will cover all Challenged Athletes so there is no charge.

Requirements:
You must be at least age 16 and wear an ANSI-approved helmet during the entire cycling event. You will be allowed to bring up to 3 assistants to aid you in the swim start and swim finish along with help in the transition area. A list of all rules can be found by clicking here: USAT Rules

The race course is only suitable for wheelchair athletes if you have previously trialed the bike course, faster than 2 hours 45 minutes. The hills are very tough.

All athletes must be USAT members. A one-day membership may be purchased at race registration or check-in.
